Mission and Outreach

The parish supports the three major Anglican agencies as agreed upon by Synod resolution. They are ABM – Australia, CGS (Company of the Good Shepherd) and National Home Mission Fund.  Mrs Elisabeth Fulton co-ordinates this programme encouraging parishioners to support by way of special projects or short term collections.  Other mission agencies are also supported by individual private contributions.

Men’s Breakfast provide an opportunity for men to engage in fellowship, teaching and mission within the Cathedral Parish. The group meets at the Cathedral but is non-denominational in style and is open for all to attend, regardless of religious affiliation.

Monthly Meetings: Men’s Breakfast usually meets in the Abbott Room at 7:30 am on the second Saturday of the month with a guest speaker from the parish or wider community.

It seeks to uphold Christian teaching on marriage; encourages the nurturing of children in the Christian faith; seeks to maintain fellowship, prayer, worship and service; and promotes social responsibility for the benefit of future generations.

Monthly Meetings: MU usually meets in the Abbott Room at 7:30 pm on the Fourth Tuesday of the month.

The Society of Saint Francis is a world-wide body of Christians of the Anglican Communion who wish to live a life in conformity with the spirit of the Gospel after the example of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The members of the three Orders are bound together in the one Society by their prayer and contemplation of him who is the source of their strength and of their common life. This is the heart of Franciscan spirituality, expressed through vows of poverty, chastity and obedience in the First and Second Orders, and through living daily in the spirit of these counsels in the Third Order (lay order).

The Bathurst  Franciscan Group has been in existence for about eight years and apart from prayer, study and contemplation it has reached out to many on the edge of society and given much help.
